Frequently Asked Questions
In most states, the required height for a pool fence is 4.5 feet. Certain states, counties or local laws may require a 5-foot fence. Check with your municipality to see what exactly is needed for your pool.
Vinyl pool fences are one of the best ways to prevent small children and animals from falling into a pool and drowning. Since children should only enter a pool under adult supervision, a pool fence is a basic fail-safe. And when it’s dark and hard to see, it can help prevent adults from falling in too. The main advantage of a vinyl pool fence is that it will not rust or corrode. Plus the white color is neutral and blends into the surroundings.
Legally, any in-ground pool is required to be surrounded by a fence. But if your pool is in your backyard, and the yard has a fence around it, you may not need any other boundary around the pool. For above-ground pools, a fence is only required if the pool is of a certain depth.
Some of the most popular styles of fence around a pool are vinyl and mesh, both of which allow you to enjoy a view of the pool. Public pools often use metal fencing, and wood and even glass panels are also popular. But in terms of strength, durability and cost, vinyl is the best material for a pool fence.
